We and four friends gathered for lunch with a friend in her home by Five Mile River in Rowayton, Connecticut.
It was a beautiful day, and we celebrated the arrival of spring as we watched some boats coming and going, as
well as some ducks and geese.

We hiked a rather difficult trail at the top of the Saugatuck River in Weston, Connecticut. It seemed like very
few other hikers had been there since the snow disappeared as there were lots of leaves covering the roots and
rocks on the trail.

The Easter Vigil at
St. John Church
in Darien, Connecticut was very special for us as one of John’s grandsons
was confirmed then. He and his finance will marry there at the end of July and that will be a very special
time as well.

We enjoyed having our Kenyan friends from West Haven, Connecticut for Easter Dinner. They brought some of their
favorite foods - chapatis, pilau and plantains – which we enjoyed because they reminded us of special times in Kenya.

We celebrated John’s 90th birthday with his family at a new restaurant in Darien, Connecticut. This was his third
time celebrating his long life. He was honored a couple of weeks earlier by the Mission Team of Noroton Presbyterian
Church in Darien – and also with a friend who provided pizza before we watched Conclave.
